New retro-styled soundtrack release from Iwadare and Naruke

Ace Attorney’s Noriyuki Iwadare and Wild Arms’ Michiko Naruke have collaborated in recent years on a range of arranged and original albums. Last year, they went one step further by scoring an entire game together. Available for free on iOS, the Zombie Tokyo is an 8-bit action adventure with a self-evident premise.

For the title, Iwadare and Naruke went back to their roots in order to create a melodious retro score mostly created through FM synthesis. A 12-track soundtrack for the title will be released by Mar Expo Records tomorrow. The soundtrack can be previewed above and can be imported via this link.

  1. Not usually too inerested in these smartphone mini-soundtracks, but premise and samples of this one seem pretty good.
