Detention soundtrack now available on Bandcamp

The soundtrack to Red Candle’s game Detention, released on Steam yesterday, is now available on Bandcamp. Composer Weifan Chang adds a level of authenticity to the score, bringing in Taiwanese elements to the soundtrack, which accompanies a game set in 1960s Taiwan.

The soundtrack incorporates live and synth instruments for a moody score that is both dissonant and melodic, bringing sounds of electronica, rock, lo-fi, and traditional Asian instrumentation. Chang’s full score, clocking in at just over 70 minutes of music, is available here on Bandcamp for 6.99 USD.

About the Author

A native and lifelong Texan, I currently work in software education while contributing news, reviews, and interviews to VGMO on the side. I love the feeling that comes with the discovery of a brand new soundtrack, and always look forward to the next rekindling of that excitement. Outside of VGMO, I enjoy playing piano, listening to classical music and film scores, and trying to go unnoticed in any stealth RPG I can find.
