The Travelers release “Pillars of Eternity” arrangement

The Travelers, a folk-inspired game music cover group, has released their latest single on Bandcamp. After some members of the group met with Justin Bell, in-house audio director and composer of Obsidian Entertainment, they arranged a Travelers-themed version of “Oldsong” from Pillars of Eternity titled “Amhrán Ársa.”

“Amhrán Ársa,” arranged by Josh Barron, features game music cover stars including David Erik Ramos, who recently completed an ocarina performance tour of Europe, and violinist mklachu, who has become well-known for her creative otamatone covers. The arrangement also incorporates traditional instruments like gamelan and bodhrán to combine elements of the original piece with the trademark folk instruments of The Travelers.

“Amhrán Ársa” is available for a name-your-price option on Bandcamp.

A native and lifelong Texan, I currently work in software education while contributing news, reviews, and interviews to VGMO on the side. I love the feeling that comes with the discovery of a brand new soundtrack, and always look forward to the next rekindling of that excitement. Outside of VGMO, I enjoy playing piano, listening to classical music and film scores, and trying to go unnoticed in any stealth RPG I can find.
