Jimmy ‘BigGiantCircles’ Hinson releases mesmerising new album

Jimmy Hinson (aka BigGiantCircles) released a new record earlier today: There Came An Echo, the soundtrack album for the sci-fi strategy game of the same name. The album is already topping the charts of Bandcamp and for good reason: it explores the electronic-chiptune hybrid sounds the artist has become known for, while offering an eclectic blend of timbres and moods to capture the game. Hinson also incorporates solo performances from Malukah, Jeff Ball, and Ashly Burch into the mix.

Hinson has received plenty of praise over the years for his chiptune original albums, Impostor Nostalgia and The Glory Days, the latter winning an Annual Game Music Award last year. However, his original scores have mostly been brief (e.g. Threes, Extreme Bike Trip) or collaborative (e.g. Mass Effect 2, Borderlands 2) to leave quite as longstanding an impression. Impressive in quantity and quality, There Came An Echo is the artist’s most definitive soundtrack album.
