Jake Kaufman’s soundtrack for third Shantae title available now

After a significant delay, WayForward Technologies released Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse for 3DS this week. Jake Kaufman wrote the music for the title, paying homage to classic video game scores along the way. To coincide with the game’s release, he has released the 51 track soundtrack for the title on a name-your-price basis through Bandcamp.

Shantae and the Pirate’s Curse is the third title in a long-running line of platformers starring the genie girl Shantae. Released in 2002, the original game was one of Jake Kaufman’s first ever video game scores. He is already working on the soundtrack for a fourth game in the series, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, which was crowdfunded through Kickstarter.
