This week, we are giving away copies of two new album releases from legendary demoscene musician and game composer Mark ‘TDK’ Knight. Mark ‘TDK’ Knight gained great acclaim in the 90s through his contributions to the Amiga demoscene and his scores for video game franchises such as Dungeon Keeper, Populous, and Duke Nukem. The artist has spent much of the last decades as an audio director at Codemasters on franchises such as Formula 1 and DiRT. He has recently marked his return to composing through the solo album Reawakening and is also starting to release his old soundtracks.

Reawakening

Reawakening is a solo album in which Knight revisits his chiptune roots. Mark decided in 2011 that the time was right to bring the name TDK out of retirement to create this album, utilising not only the tricks of the chiptune trade 20 years ago, but modern chiptune and music production techniques. The album can be redeemed here using the following codes:

CyberSpeed Unleashed

CyberSpeed Unleashed features the soundtrack from the PlayStation racing game CyberSpeed released back in 1995. Knight revisited this work 16 years later and enhanced it using using existing and updated sequencer files. The album can be redeemed here using the following codes:

About the Author

I've contributed to websites related to game audio since 2002. In this time, I've reviewed over a thousand albums and interviewed hundreds of musicians across the world. As the founder and webmaster of VGMO -Video Game Music Online-, I hope to create a cutting-edge, journalistic resource for all those soundtrack enthusiasts out there. In the process, I would love to further cultivate my passion for music, writing, and generally building things. Please enjoy the site and don't hesitate to say hello!
