Toru Minegishi returns as sound director for Splatoon 2

During the Nintendo Switch Experience Meeting 2017, Nintendo held special concerts for rock band and big band. During the first of these performances, Nintendo celebrated the music of newer titles such as Splatoon, Xenoblade Chronicles, and Mario Kart 8 with special arrangements.

Toru Minegishi appeared during the first of these concerts and revealed that he would be returning as the lead composer and sound director for the Nintendo Switch exclusive Splatoon 2. The game itself closely follows the approach of the original and it seems like its sound will follow suit. At the end of the concert, the company also previewed by main theme for Splatoon 2, “Ink-oming”, featuring in-game band Wet Floor.

To learn more about Splatoon‘s music, check out our review of the original game’s soundtrack, penned by Minegishi and Shiho Fujii. Thanks to RBMNintendoGamer for the tip.
