Sonic the Hedgehog has generally had highly respected and enviable music tunes played at him. However, way back in the early era of Sonic’s fame, a small single made of samples from one of his most well known tunes was pressed.

Supersonic H.W.A. Featuring Sonic the Hedgehog takes a small section of the Green Hill Zone’s track from the original Sonic the Hedgehog and puts it into a dance remix.

It features a very typical House beat with a female singer booming out “Let me take you higher” while a computerised “SuperSonic” is muttered throughout. It’s novel, relatively inoffensive, and quite catchy, but definately not groundbreaking.

The original version is fun enough, while the 12″ version extends the piece and adds some fun little sound effects from the game. It’s followed but the 12″ instrumental which removes all the females vocals.

Credit where credits due, SuperSonic H.W.A. gets catchier upon each listen. However, now with the advent of fan remixes it falls foul of its indie charisma and is quite dated now. Still, it’s good a for quick listen!
