Ryuji Iuchi returns to score Shenmue 3

A little over 24 hours since its surprise announcement at Sony E3 2015 Press Conference, Yu Suzuki’s Shenmue 3 has raised close to 3M USD on Kickstarter. The score for the game will be composed by Ryuji Iuchi.

One of an ensemble team of composers for Shenmue and Shenmue 2, Iuchi helped set the tone for the Yokosuka-set adventure with iconic themes such as “Shenhua” and “Wish…” In recent years, he has primarily worked on Japanese television series, movies, and advertisements.

Digital and physical soundtracks will be available for those who back the game at the steep prices of 160 USD and 250 USD respectively. It is currently unknown whether the music will be separately commercially released. The game is expected to ship in December 2017 for PlayStation 4 and PC.
