Nioh soundtrack coming next week

nioh

Nioh recently emerged as the surprise critical hit of 2017. This action RPG blends intense combat with a dark fantasy setting inspired by Sengoku Japan. Developed by Team Ninja, the title was released exclusively for PlayStation 4 today.

The developers brought in Yugo Kanno to the score the title, a prolific film, anime, and television composer who also scored the video game rain. For this title, Kanno blended traditional Eastern and Western instruments to capture the aesthetic of the game, while shifting in intensity to reflect the on-screen combat. An example of the action music is featured in the trailer below.

KOEI Tecmo Games will release the Nioh Original Soundtrack on February 15 in Japan. The two disc soundtrack will feature all 45 pieces of background music created for the game. Retailing at 3200 JPY, the album can be pre-ordered from CDJapan and other import retailers now.
