Manami Matsumae and Shusaku Uchiyama attached to new game

Two interconnected projects are currently seeking funding through Kickstarter. Red Ash: The Indelible Legend, a sci-fi adventure game from Keiji Inafune’s Comcept, and Red Ash: Magicicada, an animation from STUDIO4℃. It promises to be a unique collaboration between anime and gaming companies, who will together to create their own unique content based on the same property and characters.

For the video game, Inafune has recruited the help of two veterans on the audio side. Manami Matsumae, the famed chiptune musician behind scores such as Mega Man, Mighty No. 9, and Derby Stallion, will contribute the game’s background music (including the pitch video music featured above). She is joined by Shusaku Uchiyama, a versatile Capcom-turned-freelance musician who has extensively worked on the Resident Evil franchise.

Once the game’s development is complete, a digital version of the soundtrack will be among the rewards for backers. It is exclusive to those who pledge 49 USD and above.

About the Author

I've contributed to websites related to game audio since 2002. In this time, I've reviewed over a thousand albums and interviewed hundreds of musicians across the world. As the founder and webmaster of VGMO -Video Game Music Online-, I hope to create a cutting-edge, journalistic resource for all those soundtrack enthusiasts out there. In the process, I would love to further cultivate my passion for music, writing, and generally building things. Please enjoy the site and don't hesitate to say hello!
